Maternal Child Health in Texas: A Continuing Crisis

This presentation shares data on the current state of maternal mortality and maternity care deserts in Texas including contributing factors and evidence-based solutions. We will also focus on the increasing mental health crisis facing children and adolescents, exacerbated by a shortage of providers and the COVID-19 pandemic. Both short and long-term solutions are explored to improve the health of mothers and children in Texas.
